• turn on your sprinklers and check for leaks
• spot paint worn areas on gutters and downspouts. repair or caulk holes. replace any sections that have holes or excessive rust
• check your storm windows. replace loose or worn parts.
• clean out debris or leaves that have filled or blocked doorways, window wells, and storm drains.
• check that exhaust ducts are clear
• check chimney, valley, plumbing vent, skylight flashing
• check attic for signs of roof leaks
• look for peeling paint
• look for signs of leaks where deck attaches to house
• check foundation for cracks

Summer

• check your attic for proper ventilation and birds' nests

Fall

• blow out sprinklers
• clean your roof
• clean out your gutters
• change batteries in your smoke alarms
• drain outdoor faucets or hoses
• check that exhaust ducts are clear
• check attic vents
• repair cracked/broken glass
• prune landscaping and create good drainage away from the house
